Founded by Jamsetji Tata in 1868, the Tata group is a global enterprise, headquartered in India, comprising 30 companies across 10 clusters.
The group operates in more than 100 countries across six continents, with a mission 'To improve the quality of life of the communities we serve globally, through long-term stakeholder value creation based on Leadership with Trust’.
Apart from these things, Why could TATA be the best, is the question that resolves right?

Airlines:
We all know Air Asia’s tale but the other one has a beautiful story - “VISTARA". Tata SIA Airlines, a joint venture between Tata Sons and Singapore Airlines, operates under the flagship brand name Vistara, a domestic and international full-service carrier. Though it is a joint venture, Vistara has its own history and a great story behind it. Vistara can be the best among the top airlines in India today. Entering the airline industry was a long battle for the TATA, but it was chased with a strong coin to move.
The big news for TATA is its strongest Bid over Air India. Currently, the Tata Group and SpiceJet CEO Ajay Singh are the final two bidders for Air India. Tata Group was among the “multiple” suitors that had put in preliminary bids for the loss-making AI in December 2020. The government is selling its entire 100% stake in the airline that has been bleeding ever since its amalgamation with Indian Airlines in 2007.
Now, TATA has a great advantage if it ahead first in the race. Having Its two companies on its list and now in the rage game for Air India. Let’s wait and watch!
Acquisition of big basket:
TATA acquires a majority stake in BigBasket, invests $219 million. This would be a great thing to compete strongly with the world's best brands in the consumer sector. The Tata group would pitch the conglomerate against established heavyweights such as Amazon, Reliance Industries Ltd (RIL), and Walmart In.
“Grocery is one of the largest components of an individual’s consumption basket in India and BigBasket, as India’s largest e-grocery player, fits in perfectly with our vision of creating a large consumer digital ecosystem. We are delighted to welcome BigBasket as a part of Tata Digital," said Pratik Pal, chief executive of Tata Digital.
Consumer and Retail:
Tata’s companies have established leading brands ranging from consumer durables, tea to packaged water. The journey from 1917 to date has seen the group's footprint in the Consumer Goods segment multiply several times. Ranging from Tata chemicals, FMCG, consumer goods, consumer lifestyle: From Voltas, Titan to Tata Salt, they have built their strongest dots in all segments.
Information Technology:
No introduction is needed for Tata consultancy services. It has created its own dominant play in the IT sector.
IT-as-a-Service
TCS iON is a strategic unit of Tata Consultancy Services focused on Manufacturing Industries (SMB), Educational Institutions, and Examination Boards. TCS iON provides technology by means of a unique IT-as-a-Service model, offering end-to-end business solutions.
Electric vehicle:
The important play of TATA in its electric vehicle sector and the strongest competitor for Tesla which will start its operations in India soon. With the world saying goodbye to fuel and hello EV, Tata’s Nexon has a big role to play in India.
Tata Motors alone didn’t enter the EV sector but made its other companies enter too. Starting from Tata Elxsi Ltd, Tata power company ltd, Tata chemicals, TCS, and others too in providing services to this strong sector.
While the news hit that Tesla is going to launch its own Tesla burgers at the charging stations, Tata has its own way to reach its customers by hitting us with our favorite shop-“ Starbucks” at its charging stations.
There is more than Tata is doing in other sectors. Croma, The TAJ, consumer products, and lifestyle. Tata has a long-term play, and it will be the best among the best
